The Hanson boys and Irene-Wakonda girls were team winners at the Cornbelt Conference track & field meet Thursday in Freeman.

Hanson tallied 216.50 points for the boys’ title, Viborg-Hurley finished in second place with 110.5 points, while Canistota was third at 97 points. Irene-Wakonda claimed the girls’ title with 151 points, just ahead of Menno at 146 points, while Hanson took third at 94 points.

Individual double winners included Howard’s Melanie Calmus in the girls’ 100-meter and 200-meter dash, Canistota’s Josiah Schroeder in the boys’ 1600-meter and 3200-meter run, while Hanson’s Hayden Bahmuller won the boys’ shotput and discus throw.
