Mitchell firefighters were called to a house fire at 614 North Rowley in Mitchell early Sunday evening. Flames were shooting and black smoke was billowing out of the rear and side of the house.
The call came in around 6:30 PM. Units from Mount Vernon and Ethan assisted, as some Mitchell fire personnel were in Alexandria. No one was injured in the blaze, but the house was a total loss. The cause of the fire is not known.
