The Mitchell City Council last night denied approval of a taxi cab license to Speedy Taxi. The company’s license had previously been denied by the council due to complaints about the company and its business practices and its owner, Dustin Feistner. Feistner has had legal issues and told the council that he spent some time in prison as a result.

At Monday’s council meeting, Feistner asked for the license to be approved, even if it was conditional with restrictions. Feistner’s proposal was to run Speedy Taxi seven days a week at a cheaper rate than current taxi companies offer. He was also charged with running Speedy Taxi without a license after the Mitchell City Council denied approval. That is one of the reasons Councilman Jeff Smith moved to deny approval last night.

The council recommended Feistner reapply for the license in six months.
