MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University Athletic Department is excited to announce one regional honor awarded by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) along with several top-10 national finishes in the NAIA Sports Information Director Association (SIDA) Publication and Media Contest, achieved by the DWU Sports Information Department in conjunction with the DWU Marketing team over the course of the 2020-21 athletic season.

Over 500 submissions of storytelling and writing were submitted as part of the 2021 CoSIDA Fred Stabley Sr. Writing Contest, which consisted of seven different writing categories spread over eight districts throughout the country. Claiming the District 7 award for the best season preview or recap as part of the 2021 CoSIDA Fred Stabley Sr. Writing Contest, was the 2020 Dakota Wesleyan football preview titled Grateful for their Opportunity: Tigers welcome challenging season ahead. The writing submission included institutions of all sizes including NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and NJCAA schools.

Limited to just NAIA institutions, the 2021 NAIA-SIDA Publications & Media Contest included 18 categories ranging between gameday programs, season previews and motion graphics. The Dakota Wesleyan staff placed in the top-10 in five categories including two first-place finishes. A DWU Indoor Track and Field graphic claimed the top spot in the classification of Gameday Infographics while a Women’s Basketball Gif won the category of Motion Graphics.

Other categories the Tigers placed in the top-10 were Gameday Programs, Event, Accolades and Breaking News Infographics and Best Splash Pages and Wallpapers.
