The Rotary Club of Mitchell presented the Carl Sprunger Educator of the Year award to Mitchell High School Social Studies teacher Steve Morgan. The recipient is selected based on nominations made by graduating seniors of the two Mitchell high schools. Seniors are asked to nominate individuals they feel have made a meaningful contribution to their academic and leadership success during their years in our school system. Students noted Morgan’s passion for teaching and the subject matter. Rotary awarded a grant to Morgan to assist him with his contribution to the success of Mitchell’s students.
The grant is made in memory of longtime Rotarian Carl Sprunger, who demonstrated a commitment to the development of young people throughout his lifetime. Fifty-eight current and former members of the school systems were nominated and each will receive a letter of congratulations from Rotary.
