The former Crafty Fox building located on North Main Street in Mitchell will undergo lead and asbestos removal from a Minnesota company.  The issue was on Monday night’s Mitchell City Council agenda.  City Engineer Joe Schroeder says the local company originally chosen to perform the service, FloorTec, will not be able to remove the substances due to an issue with their lead abatement certification.  ServiceMaster Recovery Management can perform the service at a cost of $27,340 by the second week in August.

The city now owns the building and needs to remove the lead and asbestos to continue restoration.
