The Mitchell Planning and Zoning Commission on Monday heard about potential plans to renovate the former BPI building located on North Lawler Street. Lynda Price is planning changes to the building, which has been vacant since 2019. Planning and Zoning Commission member and architect Larry Jirsa says the proposed changes include retail space and a small restaurant on the first floor, office space and storage in the basement, and a bar with a golf simulator on the second floor.

The building will be mixed-use, and Jirsa told the commission that the focus right now is on the first floor with tenants already lined up to use the space.

The Planning and Zoning Commission approved the concept plan unanimously.
