The Mitchell School Board will revisit the back-to-school protocols, including the mask mandate, at today’s meeting, which is scheduled for 5 PM at the MCTEA building across from Mitchell Senior High School. In the agenda notes, Mitchell Schools Superintendent Dr. Joe Graves says he will recommend an end to the mandate. The notes say that during his most recent conversation with health care professionals from the Avera system, it was communicated to him that, due to expected declines in active cases, it was now reasonable to consider changing the mask protocol from required to recommended. However, the decision lies with the school board. Today’s Mitchell School Board meeting is open to the public.
