The Mitchell School Board on Monday voted to end the mask mandate in the Mitchell School District. The mandate, which was in effect during the 20-21 school year and had been relaxed over the summer, had been placed back in effect at the beginning of the school year. Mitchell Schools Superintendent Joe Graves said that after consulting with medical professionals from Avera, the district’s stance should change so that masks are recommended rather than required. The board voted 3-2 in favor of relaxing the mandate.
