After a one-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Annual Christmas Day Dinner will be held again this year. Troy Magnuson is one of the organizers of the dinner. He says they will be serving from 11 AM until 2 PM on Christmas Day at the Masonic Temple/Masonic Hall located at 5th and Lawler. Anyone needing a dinner delivered can call 996-4724 after 9 AM on Christmas Day.
The menu will consist of turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, ham, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, various desserts, coffee, and apple cider.
Magnuson has helped organize the dinner since its inception 21 years ago. He says the premise now is the same as it was then: nobody should be alone on Christmas Day.
He says volunteers are always welcome. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help fund the dinner both this year and into the future. That link is here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/vq4y56-christmas-day-dinner?qid=4d6beab6674d4db4066f450079571806. For more information, call Troy Magnuson at 770-5731.
