Friend de Coup wins first runner up, Best Band and other awards at Competition of Excellence in Omaha

Friend De Coup earned First Runner Up, Best Band, Best Choreography and Best Ballad during
the 2022 Competition of Excellence at Omaha Westside High School on January 29, 2022.
Seventeen choirs from South Dakota, Kansas and Nebraska competed in prep, unisex and
open class divisions for the championship and caption awards.

FDC has finished in the top five at the COE competition since 2008 with grand champion
titles in 2008, 2011, 2014, 2018 and 2020. There was no competition held in 2021 due to the
pandemic.

Other finalists in order of placement were Grand Champions, Best Vocals, Best Closer–West
in the Grove from Millard West in Omaha, NE, First Runner Up, Best Band, Best Choreography, Best
Ballad–Friend de Coup, Second Runner Up–Blackout from Elkhorn South in Omaha, Third Runner
Up–Ultimate Image, Grand Island, NE, Fourth Runner Up and Best Costumes–The Ambassadors,
Omaha South High School, Omaha, NE, Fifth Runner Up and Best Opener–Uptown Girls, Millard
West, Omaha.
