MITCHELL — At the annual Dakota Wesleyan University awards banquet on Friday, senior and member of the women’s soccer team Jozy Bardsley was named the 2022 recipient if the KMIT Student Athlete Award.
Bardsley and the DWU Tigers went 9-7-2 in 2021. Bardsley played in all 17 matches in the fall and was responsible for 14 goals, six assists on 69 shots this season. Bardsley had two game-winning goals.
The KMIT Student-Athlete Award had been given out to one DWU male or female student athlete for the past 37 years. Winners are chosen based on athletic and academic prowess, service to community, leadership abilities, among other considerations.

For 37 years, the Mitchell Radio Group, which now includes Sports Director Jake Hibbard and KMIT Radio (the home of Tiger Sports) has presented the KMIT Student-Athlete Award.
