MITCHELL – Dakota Wesleyan University softball set three student-athletes on the GPAC All-Conference awards this morning. The student-athletes included from Tiger softball were sophomore, outfielder, Alyssa Burke of Rapid City, S.D.; freshman, infielder, McKinnely Mull of Vernal, Utah; and Senior, outfielder, Adriana Thomason of Las Vegas, Nev.
Alyssa Burke garnered first-team honors as a sophomore outfielder from Rapid City, S.D.. Burke led the team in batting average (.371), stolen bases (31), and at bats (159). In the batter’s box, she recorded 59 hits while adding a pair of doubles, and triples to her stat sheet. She recorded 32 runs scored to lead the team while batting in eight RBI. Burke also set the single season and career stolen base records this year while only being thrown out twice on 33 stolen base attempts. Playing in all but one game for Head Coach Lien, she have 65 total bases and four extra base hits. Burke also had four appearances in the circle this season for the Tigers, tossing 6 1/3 innings to earn the save in one.
McKinnely Mull was named to All-Conference Second-Team after playing a strong freshman season with a .331 batting average, .363 on base percentage, and a .527 slugging percentage. The Vernal, Utah native, recorded 49 hits on 148 at bats, adding nine doubles, one triple, and six home runs. Mull also accounted for 21 runs while leading the team with 36 RBI. Mull was second for the Tigers in stolen bases, notching 13. Mull played in all 44 games for Head Coach Lien, recording 16 extra base hits, and 78 total bases.
Adriana Thomason garnered an honorable mention honor after posting a .416 on base percentage and .514 slugging percentage on the year. Thomason put up 37 hits, 24 runs, and 24 RBI. Of those hits, she recorded eight doubles, one triple, and a trio of home runs. 56 total bases, with 12 extra base hits Thomason also reached first on one hit by a pitch.
