SIOUX FALLS S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Over four-hundred teachers are converging on Sioux Falls for the State Education Department’s Civics and History Summit.

It’s all part of the process of developing curriculum to comply with new Social Studies standards approved last year.  Schools will work on curriculum throughout the next school year and roll it out to students in the fall of 2025.

State Education Secretary, Dr. Joe Graves, says the new standards will elevate the teaching of civics and history in South Dakota schools.
