Tomorrow, the playoff action continues for those teams still alive in the championship race. In 11B it’ll be No. 4 seed Elk Point-Jefferson hosting No. 5 seed Clark/Willow Lake at 6pm, as well as No. 2 Winner hosting No. 10 Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central at 6pm and No. 3 seed Mt. Vernon/Plankinton hosting No. 11 seed St. Thomas-More at 6pm. Then in 9AA its No. 1 seed Parkston hosting No. 8 seed Leola/Frederick Area at 7pm and No. 3 seed Elkton-Lake Benton hosting No. 11 seed Hanson at 6:30pm. Then in 9B its No. 1 seed Avon hosting No. 8 seed Canistota at 7pm and No. 4 seed Corsica-Stickney hosting No. 5 seed Sully Buttes at 6pm.

In Volleyball, here are your local volleyball results: Avon defeated Bon Homme 3-1, Burke took down Parkston in straight sets, Chester beat Bridgewater-Emery in straight sets, Corsica-Stickney defeated Colome in straight sets, Ethan beat Platte-Geddes 3-2, Hitchcock-Tulare took down Wessington Springs in straight sets, Mt. Vernon/Plankinton defeated Sanborn Central-Woonsocket in straight sets and Tripp-Delmont-Armour defeated Freeman Academy-Marion 3-1.

Mitchell Kernels

Kernel volleyball was in search of a second win in a row last night. It went five sets in Huron, but it was the Tigers who emerged victorious, 3-2. A hard-fought battle between the two teams nonetheless. The Kernels have off now until next Tuesday.

All-State teams in cross-country have been announced for 11AA and one of Mitchell’s own was selected. It was Hunter Patton who was recently named All-State after finishing 16th at the state meet.

Dakota Wesleyan

Tiger men’s and women’s soccer take the field this evening for their last regular season game. They are in Sioux City, Iowa for this game to play the Morningside Mustangs. The women get rolling at 5:30pm and the men begin at 8pm.

Your Tiger volleyball team faces the Dordt Defenders tonight. Searching to get back in the win column after their latest loss. The game will begin at 7:30pm in the Christen Family Athletic Center.

MLB

Game 4 action went down for the World series last night in New York to see if it would be a sweep or if Game 5 would be forced. And Game 5 it is due to the Yankees 11-4 win in New York. The series now sits at 3-1 with the Game 5 to be played tonight in New York at 7:08pm on FOX.

NBA

Lots of fun action in the association last night and here are the results from the four-game slate in the NBA. The Denver Nuggets defeated the Brooklyn Nets in overtime, 144-139. The Dallas Mavericks beat the Minnesota Timberwolves, 120-114. The Sacramento Kings took down the Utah Jazz, 113-96. And the Golden State Warriors beat the New Orleans Pelicans, 124-106.
