Mitchell Kernels
The volleyball team started off strong last night winning the opening set, but in the end, Brandon Valley was too much to stave off. After that opening set, the Lynx took the following three sets in convincing fashion. Winning the match, 3-1. The Kernels will look ahead to tomorrow when they take on O’Gorman. They will travel to O’Gorman high school for this game. All teams will be in action again. JV begins at 4:30pm, sophomores at 5:30pm and varsity at 7pm.
Dakota Wesleyan
Time for the second annual Battle of the Blues tonight between your Dakota Wesleyan Tigers and the Dakota State Trojans. Happening this year at the Worlds Only Corn Palace. It starts with a Top 10 ranked matchup between the women’s teams. Your No. 9 ranked women’s basketball team will open the action against the No. 6 ranked Trojans with tipoff at 6pm and the pregame beginning at 5:45pm. The men’s game will follow against DSU beginning at approximately 8pm and have a short pregame beforehand. We will have a special guest during tonight’s games so stay tuned!
Tiger volleyball closed their regular season in convincing fashion last night. They swept the Briar Cliff Chargers in straight sets to end the year on a winning note! Their regular season ends with a 13-15 overall record and 7-9 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. Now they will prepare for postseason action! The GPAC postseason volleyball tournament bracket has been set. Your Tigers will be the No. 7 seed and will face No. 2 seed Concordia in the quarterfinal round. The Quarterfinals begin this Saturday, and the Tigers will play at 5pm on the road in Concordia.
Men’s soccer was in action last night for the GPAC men’s soccer postseason tournament. Your No. 8 seed Tigers took on the No. 1 seed Morningside Mustangs but were unable to get past them and advance in this tournament. The Mustangs defeated the Tigers, 2-0. They end their season with a 7-9-2 overall record and 4-6 in the GPAC.
NBA
Tonight, will be another night filled with quite a few games in the NBA, especially coming off a day off with no games yesterday for any teams. Only a pair of games will be on National TV, those being the Golden State Warriors vs the Boston Celtics at 6:30pm and the Philadelphia 76ers vs the Los Angeles Clippers at 9pm, both on ESPN. Your Minnesota Timberwolves will not see action again until tomorrow when they hit the road to face the Chicago Bulls at 7pm on NBATV.
NFL
Tomorrow night in the NFL we have Thursday Night Football once again. This time it’ll be the Cincinnati Bengals against the Baltimore Ravens. It will kickoff at 7:15pm on Prime Video at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.
