Tomorrow, the playoff action continues for high school football in the race for a State Championship. In Class 9AA, the undefeated 10-0 No. 1 seed Parkston Trojans will take on Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy at Parkston high school beginning at 7pm.
Mitchell Kernels
The All-Conference teams for the Eastern SD conference were announced yesterday and one of the Kernel football players was included. No one on defense, but on offense it was Parker Denne who was named to the All-Conference team as a running back for Mitchell.
Kernel volleyball is set to take on O’Gorman tonight on the road. They will travel to O’Gorman high school for their final game of the season. All Kernel teams will be in action again. JV begins at 4:30pm, sophomores at 5:30pm and varsity at 7pm.
Dakota Wesleyan
Last night was the second annual Battle of the Blues at the Worlds Only Corn Palace. It began with a Top 10 ranked women’s game. It was the No. 6 ranked Dakota State Trojans who came out on top against our No. 9 ranked women’s team. Defeating them by a score of 74-62. The men’s game followed and was a beat down from the opening tip. The Tigers led by 20 points at the half and did not let up. Coming away with a 76-48 win and avenging last year’s loss at the buzzer in Madison, SD.
Volleyball is preparing now for the Great Plains Athletic Conference postseason volleyball tournament this weekend. The Tigers will be the No. 7 seed and will face No. 2 seed Concordia in the quarterfinal round to open the tournament. The Quarterfinals begin on Saturday, and the Tigers will play at 5pm on the road in Concordia.
NBA
A boatload of games in the association last night on NBA League Pass, including a pair on ESPN. For today, your Minnesota Timberwolves will hit the road to face the Chicago Bulls. Tonight’s game will start at 7pm on NBATV.
NFL
Thursday Night Football for week 10 is here. This week it’s the Cincinnati Bengals against the Baltimore Ravens. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:15pm on Prime Video and is being played at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.
