Mitchell Kernels

Over the weekend the Kernels gymnastics team competed in an event against Harrisburg & Watertown. They came away with the top spot as a team with a score of 148.2! Various Kernels came away with Top 5 placements including Bentley Bates claiming first in bars, Keyanna Gropper in fourth and Olivia Prunty in fifth. Bates also earned first in bars and Aubrey Gelderman came in fourth. Bates earned second in floor as well, with Prunty in third and Keyana Kelley tying for fifth. In vault, Prunty got second, Kelley in third and Bates finished fifth. Next, the Gymnastics team will compete again this Thursday in Mitchell.

Marlins Hockey was in action over the weekend. The girls varsity took on the Sioux City Storm and Mitchell won, 8-4. Garnishing their first win of the season and are now 1-3 overall. The boys varsity played as well as they took on the Brookings Rangers. The boys fell to the Rangers, 6-3 and drop to 2-3 overall.

Dakota Wesleyan

Tiger hoops will pick back up this Wednesday. Your No. 17 women’s basketball team will be playing in Brookings, SD against the South Dakota State Jackrabbits. The action will get started at 7pm with our pregame at 6:45pm.

NBA

Your Minnesota Timberwolves saw action last night as they face the Golden State Warriors for the second time in three days. They took the win on Friday, but the Warriors were the ones who came out on top this time around. Steph Curry led Golden State with 30 points and eight assists in the 114-106 win, while Anthony Edwards led Minnesota with 27 points. There’s just ONE game on the schedule in the NBA today. It will be available on National TV. It’ll be the New York Knicks on the road visiting the Toronto Raptors at 6:30pm on NBATV.

NFL

Lots of Sunday football yesterday and plenty of exciting games. One team that was in action was your Minnesota Vikings. A game that was tied up 21 all going into the fourth. That’s when the Vikings turned things up and railed off another 21 points to double up the Falcons and emerge victorious, 42-21. Today, we have some Monday Night Football! It’ll be the Cincinnati Bengals on the road to take on the Dallas Cowboys. The game will begin at 7:15pm on ABC/ESPN at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX.
