Mitchell
Kernel hoops get back to it again tonight, but the girls and boys will be in two different locations. Each team will face the Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles with the girls at home and the boys on the road. Subvarsity games begin at 4pm & 5:30pm for the girls in the World’s Only Corn Palace with varsity tipping off at 7pm. Subvarsity for the boys will also be at 4pm & 5:30pm and the varsity will start at 7pm in Aberdeen.
Dakota Wesleyan
Tiger football’s John Pica, who was named GPAC First Team Offense in 2024 and GPAC Second Team Offense in 2023 as a lineman, has been announced by the South Dakota State Jackrabbits as the newest member of their football team. The Dell Rapids, SD native who sits at 6’4” and 280lbs departs from DWU after a pair of strong seasons and now has his chance to play Division l football with the 2023 & 2024 FCS National Champions.
Tiger basketball will see game action again tomorrow right here in Mitchell. They’ll be in the World’s Only Corn Palace taking on the Morningside Mustangs with the No. 16 ranked women playing at 6pm and the men playing after at 7:45pm.
South Dakota State
SDSU Jackrabbit basketball will pick back up tomorrow when the women’s team heads to Faro, ND to take on the Bison at 7pm. The men won’t play again until Thursday in Brookings, SD when they host the Omaha Mavericks at 7pm in the First Bank & Trust Arena.
NBA
The NBA has a small four-game slate for tonight, but half of them will be available on National TV. Starting at 6pm with the Toronto Raptors at the Philadelphia 76ers, followed by the New York Knicks at the Indiana Pacers at 6:30pm on TNT/TruTV/MAX. Afterwards, at 7pm, you’ve got the Detroit Pistons at the Chicago Bulls and the night will end with the Memphis Grizzlies at the Phoenix Suns at 9pm on TNT/TruTV/MAX.
