The Kernel boys and girls wrestling teams will each have state tournament competition again today for the second day. They’ll compete again at the Monument in Rapid City, SD.
The Marlins varsity boys hockey team will round out their regular season tomorrow evening when they host Aberdeen here in Mitchell. The game will be played in the Toshiba Rink at the Mitchell Activity Center at 6pm.
The Kernel basketball teams return home for their final game of the regular season. It’ll be Senior Night here tonight in the World’s Only Corn Palace. The subvarsity game will get rolling at 3:30pm & 4:45pm for the boys and the girls. Varsity girls will tipoff at 6pm and the boys will start at 7:30pm. Senior acknowledgement for the boys will occur with five minutes left during their warmups and the girls will be acknowledged during halftime of the boys game.
Dakota Wesleyan
The No. 13 ranked Tiger women’s basketball team continues on in the Great Plains Athletic Conference tournament. They’ll now face 3 seed Briar Cliff in the semifinals tomorrow afternoon in the World’s Only Corn Palace. Tipoff is set for 3pm.
The Tiger indoor track & field team athletes will be having competition tomorrow afternoon. They will compete in the NAIA Indoor Championships in Gainesville, FL and they will be in action through Saturday. Things will get going at 1pm.
The Tiger women’s wrestling team will begin their GPAC Conference Tournament action tomorrow. They will hit the road for Crete, NE to compete in the Haddix Athletic Center beginning at Noon.
South Dakota State
The Jackrabbit men’s and women’s basketball teams were in action last night. Each team reeled in a win as the women won 71-37 over Denver and the men won 77-69 over Oral Roberts. Next, tomorrow the women will host St. Thomas for Senior Day in Brookings and the men will have their turn taking on Denver on the road in Colorado. Both games will tipoff at 2pm.
NBA
The NBA will again have just two National TV games. Starting with the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Boston Celtics at 6:30pm on ESPN, followed by the Los Angeles Clippers at the Los Angeles Lakers on ESPN at 9pm. Also, the Minnesota Timberwolves will travel to Utah to face the Jazz at 8:30pm.
