The Kernel girls basketball team will be competing in the SoDak 16 tonight. They are the 6 seed and will be in the World’s Only Corn Palace taking on the 11 seed Brookings. Tipoff will be at 7pm.

The Marlins girls varsity hockey team is competing in State Tournament action this weekend. The tournament will go through Saturday. They were in action yesterday and fell to the Aberdeen Cougars, 3-2. Makenna Tronnes scored both goals for Mitchell. The team will play again today at 3:30pm against the Watertown Lakers.

Dakota Wesleyan

The Tiger softball team will get back to action in the Tucson Invitational today. They’ll get set to face Madonna at 1:30pm and Jamestown at 4:30pm.

The Tiger baseball team was in action yesterday in Arizona. They faced Bethany Lutheran and came up short, 17-7. They will compete again today as they continue to look for win number one this season. They will take on Northern State at 9am and then Dickinson State at 2:30pm.

The Tiger basketball teams are both National Tournament bound! The women enter as the No. 5 seed and will face the No. 12 seed The Master’s next Friday, Mar. 14 in Langston, OK. The men enter as the No. 14 seed and will face the No. 3 seed The Master’s next Friday, Mar. 14 as well and they will be in Santa Clarita, CA.

South Dakota State

The Jackrabbit men’s and women’s basketball teams are competing in the Summit League Tournament. The women took on No. 8 seed Omaha today in the Denny Sanford Premier Center and won, 87-67, to advance to the next round. The men are the No. 3 seed and will play No. 6 seed North Dakota today at approximately 8:15pm.

NBA

The Minnesota Timberwolves get back to the court tonight. They’ll travel to face the Miami Heat at 7pm. Two National TV games on ESPN will be played tonight. It’ll be the Memphis Grizzlies at the Dallas Mavericks at 6:30pm, followed by the Phoenix Suns at the Denver Nuggets at 9pm.
