MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) The Mitchell City Council met last night to talk about setting clear goals for nonprofits that get city funding. Mayor Jordan Hanson wants more accountability, especially since the city gave over half a million dollars to groups like the Chamber of Commerce and Dakota Counseling this year. Councilman Jeff Smith says it’s all about making sure the money helps with big issues like housing and child care, especially with such a tight labor market. They also discussed permits for local events, a summer child care program, a mobile home estate purchase, and an ambulance district update.  For more Government stories from MitchellNow.com, Click Here.
