BROOKINGS, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) South Dakota FFA members packaged more than 55,000 meals during “Living to Serve Day” at the state FFA convention in Brookings on April 3rd. Teaming up with Meals of Hope, members packed 55,728 meals to fight hunger across the state. All of the meals were donated to Feeding South Dakota and the Feeding Brookings food pantry. Community leaders say the meals could be gone in just 30 to 60 days during high-need periods. According to a press release, the effort was supported by several agricultural sponsors and is part of FFA’s ongoing mission to serve communities and develop future leaders.
