Mitchell
The Kernel varsity baseball team competed in a tournament over the weekend and finished 2-1 in their three games at the Border Classic in Sioux Falls. Dropping their Friday matchup with the Red River Riders, 3-2 but sweeping the two games Saturday over the Shanley Deacons by a score of 7-2 and the West Fargo Packers, 12-7. The team is slated to play again tomorrow night on the road at Sioux Falls Jefferson beginning at 6pm.
The Mitchell softball teams will be playing today. They will host Watertown at Cadwell Park. This game was the one rescheduled from originally supposed to be played on April 1. The game will begin for varsity at 5:30pm and the JV starts at 4pm.
Dakota Wesleyan
Tiger baseball took on Morningside at Drake Field in Mitchell for kids’ day. DWU was unable to manage a win in the two games. Losing Game 1, 11-1 and Game 2, 12-8. Tomorrow, they’ll play the Dakota State Trojans on the road at Flynn Field in Madison, SD.
The Tiger women’s golf team returns to the course over the next two days. They will compete today and tomorrow in the Kaitlyn Erickson Doane Invitational in Lincoln, NE at the Wilderness Ridge Golf Course. They begin both days at 9am.

Draft day in the WNBA! Today is the day for the 2025 WNBA draft which is set to begin at 6:30pm on ESPN. The Dallas Wings have the No. 1 overall pick and are expected to draft 2025 National Champion Paige Bueckers from UConn.
MLB
The Minnesota Twins had their third game of the series against the Detroit Tigers yesterday. The Twins got themselves a win in the series yesterday, 5-1. Next is a new series which will be against the New York Mets tonight at 6:40pm in Minneapolis.
NBA
The Minnesota Timberwolves will be slotted as the No. 6 seed, and they will face the No. 3 seed Los Angeles Lakers in the opening round of the playoffs. The play-in tournament begins tomorrow, and the playoffs will begin sometime next week once all seeding is finalized.
