MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Several rivers across South Dakota are flowing higher after a stretch of steady rainfall. The Big Sioux River in Sioux Falls, which had been running low, is now up about a foot compared to last month. Many other streams and rivers around the state have also returned to normal, or above normal, levels. But not everywhere is seeing a full recovery, according to officials. The Vermillion River and Rapid Creek are both still well below average despite the recent rain.
