MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — The Mitchell Planning Commission will meet at noon Monday, March 9, in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 612 N. Main St.
Commissioners are scheduled to consider two variance permit applications. Stephen and Trudy Morgan are requesting a side corner yard setback variance to allow a 17.5-foot setback instead of the required 20 feet for an addition at 1421 Mitchell Blvd. The property is zoned R2 single-family residential.
David Baker is seeking a front yard setback variance to allow a 9.9-foot setback instead of the required 25 feet for a three-seasons porch addition at 400 W. 14th Ave. The property is zoned R4 high-density residential.
The agenda also includes plan approval for Hot Shots Espresso at 322 E. Havens Ave., which is zoned in the Highway Oriented Business District.
The commission will also be asked to approve minutes from the Feb. 23 meeting and set the next meeting date for March 23.
Public input is scheduled near the end of the meeting. Those wishing to address the commission on items not on the agenda, excluding personnel items, are asked to state their name and concern at the podium. Presentations are limited to three minutes, and items may be considered, but no action will be taken at that time.
