ALEXANDRIA, SD (Mitchell Now) — A representative with the Hanson County Sheriff’s Office tells Mitchell Now that Alexandria is still trying to repair a watermain break.
The issue was first reported on the sheriff’s Facebook page early Sunday morning, about 4:10. A call to city offices to see if there is a timetable for a fix went to voicemail. For now, the roughly 700 residents of Alexandria are left using rural water.
Alexandria is asking everyone to strictly limit their water usage until the system can be stabilized.
