MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — The intersection of Kemper Street and Ohlman Street will close beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, as crews complete earthwork and gravel base course installation.
The intersection is anticipated to reopen by the end of the day Tuesday, Sept. 1. Motorists are asked to use alternate routes while construction is underway.
A detour will be established along Indian Village Road. The detour is expected to be used for street preparation work next week and may be needed on one or two additional occasions in the coming months as concrete and asphalt paving progresses.
Construction will be sequenced to maintain access to the Musick Apartments through either the existing approach or a temporary access route.
Officials said the closure schedule could change because of site conditions, rain or the progress of other scheduled construction work. Additional notices will be provided for future closures or changes in access.
