MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) – A cool and damp start to the work week will give way to a brief break from the rain Tuesday before additional chances for showers return to Mitchell later in the week.
According to the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls, rain coverage will gradually diminish Monday, with areas of light drizzle potentially lingering into Monday night. A break from the rain is expected Tuesday into Wednesday before additional rain chances accompany warmer temperatures later in the week.
The wet start follows a rainy weekend. Mitchell received 0.65 inches of precipitation Sunday, bringing the September total to 6.23 inches through Sept. 20. Normal precipitation through that point in the month is 1.59 inches, according to the National Weather Service.
