MITCHELL, S.D. (Mitchell Now) — If you’re traveling from Mitchell toward Canton next week, plan for a detour on S.D. Highway 11.
The highway is scheduled to close at 7 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28, while crews replace a railroad crossing about a half mile north of U.S. Highway 18.
Signed detours on Highways 11 and 18 will direct drivers west on Lincoln County Highway 116 to S.D. Highway 115, or east to Lincoln County Highway 135.
The crossing is expected to reopen later in the week, weather permitting.
