MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) The Palace City Bison will play 20 home games at Cadwell Park during their inaugural season in 2027, following approval of a use agreement by the Mitchell Parks and Recreation Board.
The Bison are a summer collegiate wood-bat baseball team in the Independence League.
In a press release, the organization thanked the board and Cadwell Sports Complex staff for their work on the agreement. The team said it plans to work with park staff and other facility users to care for the fields and support summer baseball activities.
Bison owner Bob Habeger said the agreement gives the organization an opportunity to build relationships in Mitchell.
“We are excited to be part of the Mitchell community and grateful for the opportunity to call Cadwell Park home,” Habeger said.
He said the team looks forward to meeting fans and giving families another reason to spend an evening at the ballpark.
The Bison’s 2027 home schedule, ticket information and opportunities for community involvement will be announced as plans are finalized.
