MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — The Mitchell Planning Commission will consider a request to rezone part of a South Miller Street property for industrial use when it meets at noon Monday, Nov. 9, at City Hall.

South Miller Street Rezoning Hearing

Jensen Capital & Development LLC is requesting that the north portion of 1912 S. Miller St. be changed from Urban Development District to Industrial District, according to the city’s meeting packet.

The commission will hold a public hearing and consider a recommendation on the request. The application identifies Jeremy Jensen as the applicant but does not specify a proposed business or construction project.

The hearing notice schedules the City Council’s first reading of the rezoning ordinance for 6 p.m. Nov. 16. A second reading and potential adoption are scheduled for 6 p.m. Dec. 7. Both meetings will take place in the City Council Chambers.

Lake Mitchell Plat Also on Agenda

Commissioners also will consider the Fredericksen/Krall plat for Lots 9A and 14A of Sunset Point Subdivision within the Lake Mitchell Development Plan.

Other business includes approving minutes from the Oct. 26 meeting and setting the next meeting for Nov. 23.

How to Attend and Provide Input

The Nov. 9 meeting will take place in the City Council Chambers. A public-input period allows comments on matters outside the agenda, excluding personnel items. Presentations are limited to three minutes, and no action will be taken on those items during that period.

People needing disability-related assistance should contact City Hall at 605-995-8420 at least 24 hours before the meeting.
