The 19th Annual Mitchell Community Scholarship Fund Radiothon was held on Monday on KMIT and Kool 98.3. It is a chance for the public to support the program that provides a scholarship to every graduate of Mitchell High and Mitchell Christian.

Julie Brookbank says donations are expected to top $60,000 this year.  She says that should allow scholarships in the amounts of $650-700 to be given to every senior at Mitchell High and Mitchell Christian who plans on continuing their education beyond high school.

The scholarships will be awarded at the annual awards night events at the two schools this spring.  Students have two years to collect their funds and must complete one full term of education satisfactorily at their school of choice.

Brookbank says about 65-70 percent of Mitchell High and nearly 100 percent of Mitchell Christian students use their available scholarship money.
