The 9AA state championship on Thursday at 7:30 pits Platte-Geddes and Canistota/Freeman against each other.
These two teams met back in week one, with Platte-Geddes winning 16-8.
Canistota-Freeman head coach James Strang said his team is a different one than the last time the Pride and Black Panthers met up.
“We’ve got some guys in different positions that have made us more successful throughout the course of the year, and especially through the playoffs,” Strang said.
Platte-Geddes Bruce Hanson said the Black Panthers will rely on controlling the line of scrimmage.
“People talk about how we rely on Grayson Hanson, and yes we give him the ball a lot. We have some good backs who are banged up a bit, so we kind of lean on him,” coach Hanson said. “But I keep telling people, we’re leaning on our offensive line, and not necessarily Grayson. Our offensive line is four or five yards and a cloud of dust. They’ve been doing a really good job.”
Kickoff on KOOL 983 on Thursday will be at 7:30 with pregame coverage at 7:10.
