On October 3rd, the South Central Alcohol Task Force conducted 15 alcohol compliance checks in the city of Mitchell. The following establishments were checked
and passed: County Fair Food and Fuel, Dakota Sunset, Cubby’s (1700 W. Havens Ave.), M & H, Kwik Phil, Walgreens, Thunderbird Lodge, Holiday Station Store, Highland
Travel Plaza, Arnie’s First & Foster, Village Bowl/Spare Change Casino, Village Bowl/Sneaker’s Peanut Bar, and Platinum Player’s Casino III.
The were two failures and they occurred at Freedom Valu Center and Outback Casino.
In the compliance check involving Freedom Valu Center, the clerk checked the Confidential Informants identification, but still provided alcohol to the
Confidential Informant. In the compliance check at Outback Casino, the clerk did not check the Confidential Informan’s identification and still provided the Confidential
Informant alcohol. This is Freedom Valu Center’s and Outback Casino’s first failure within a 24-month period.
