MITCHELL, SD (MITCHELL NOW) The Mitchell City Council meets at 6 PM at City Hall in downtown Mitchell. On the agenda is consideration to accept a half million-dollar grant to fund the construction of an emergency shelter. Total cost of the shelter would be just over $600,000, leaving the city responsible for around $80,000. The grant is through FEMA. The nearly 2,000-foot shelter would hold up to 158 people and would be built at the Lake Mitchell Campground. Tonight’s Mitchell City Council meeting is open to the public.
