PIERRE, S.D. (MITCHELL NOW) A center-left British newspaper claims that South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem is one of two Vice Presidential candidates that former President Donald Trump may select.
The Independent cites Trump’s recent interview with Fox News.
“Kristi Noem has been incredible fighting for me,” Trump said. “She said, ‘I’d never run against him because I can’t beat him.’ That was a very nice thing to say.”
Also appearing on Fox News, Noem denied that Trump had contacted her to be his running mate.
“We talk all the time, but we’ve never had this conversation,” Noem told Fox News.
The other person on the “short list,” according to The Independent, is former Presidential candidate and current U.S. Senator Tim Scott from South Carolina.
However, Trump also said the Republican Party “has many good people.”
Both Noem and Scott have endorsed Trump.
The Independent noted that the most crucial trait he seeks is someone who can handle the Presidency if “in an emergency.”
