COLMAN, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) A pursuit that began near Ivanhoe, Minnesota ended two miles south of Colman, South Dakota.  The pursuit began when Lincoln County, Minnesota Sheriff’s Deputies entered a property to serve warrants and observed drug activity and the race was on.

Brookings County Deputies took over the chase once the suspect fled Minnesota and entered South Dakota.  He was pursued onto a rural property and abandoned his vehicle.  The owner sheltered in her bedroom while officers searched the grounds for the suspect.

Coty Tellinghuisen age 39 of Pipestone, Minnesota, was found hiding in a shed on the property.  He was taken to the Brookings jail and charged with Aggravated Eluding, Reckless Driving, Burglary and has five outstanding Minnesota warrants to face once South Dakota is through with him.

The chase went for 70 miles at speeds exceeding 100 mph. The pursuit ended when Tellinghuisen ran out of gas.
