ABERDEEN, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Kenneth Vance, age 41, of Aberdeen was sentenced in Brown County Court on one count of Sexual Contact with a Child under the Age of Sixteen and ten counts of Possession of Child Pornography. The Sexual Contact charge carries a maximum of fifteen years while each count of the Possession of Child Pornography charge carries a maximum sentence of ten years in prison.
The crimes occurred in Aberdeen. The Sexual Contact with a Child under the Age of Sixteen happened in 2018. The Possession of Child Pornography took place between 2021 and 2023.
The South Dakota Attorney General’s Office and the Brown County States’ Attorney’s Office prosecuted the case. Vance was sentenced to 115 years in prison and the sentences will be served consecutively.
