He’s leading a bipartisan group of 42 Attorneys General pushing for the Homebuyers Privacy Protection Act. The bill would stop companies from using so-called trigger leads. That’s when your mortgage application info gets sold and used to flood you with offers. Jackley says it’s a legal loophole that needs to close, and the new law would make sure only companies you’ve dealt with or given permission should be able to contact you.
