There were just a couple of District tournament games in amateur baseball last night. Starting off In District 3B, the Colome Chaos qualified for its first state tournament with a 14-4 win over Miller/Wessington.
Tonight we have the District 3B championship of Plankinton against South Central starting at 8 p.m. in Chamberlain.
In District 4B last night Colman defeated Salem 7-3. Colman will face Dell Rapids PBR tonight at 8 p.m. Lennox edged Madison 6-5. Lennox plays Canova tonight at 6 p.m. Both winners qualify for the state tournament.
In District 5B, Mt. Vernon meets Platte at 6 p.m., followed by Alexandria against Parkston. The two winners qualify for the state tourney. Both of those games will take place in Alexandria.
The state amateur tournament will begin Aug. 4 at Cadwell Park in Mitchell. Following the completion of all district tournament games, the state bracket will be revealed on a live selection show at 2 p.m. on Sunday on sportsticketlive.com.
