Davison County authorities are investigating an incident which occurred at a residence at a property in rural Mount Vernon. On Monday morning, a resident reported five individuals were found on his property outside the residence. The individuals left the property after being noticed by the property owner, who was mowing. Later that evening, the property owner discovered people had been in the house and that money was missing. The property owner mentioned that on Sunday, a different group of individuals were on the property saying their vehicle ran out of fuel. They were told to leave. It is unknown if the incidents are related. The vehicle is described as a light-colored four-door sedan with unknown license plates. An active burglary and grand theft investigation is being conducted by the Davison County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with information should contact them at 995-8630.
