Demolition work is underway on the Wellness Center building on the Avera Queen of Peace Hospital campus. The building is located on the southwest side of the hospital campus. It has played a decreasing role in hospital operations in recent years, and costs to maintain it have prompted the decision to raze the building. The property will be converted to a green space. Actual demolition work on the building, which was built in the 1940’s, will begin this week. The project is expected to be completed next month.
