MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) March Madness is over, but the talk of this year’s tournament were the women’s teams in general and Caitlin Clark of Iowa specifically.  Not so long ago that buzz was all about Becky Hammon.

Born in Rapid City, Becky Hammon played for Stevens High School where she was named South Dakota Miss Basketball in her junior year and the South Dakota Player of the year in her senior year.  Ms. Hammon went on to a stellar All-American college career at Colorado State where she was named Colorado Sportswoman of the Year.  Her standout career as a WNBA player and coach led to her induction into the Hall of Fame in 2023.  She is the head coach of the Las Vegas Aces and became the first WNBA coach in twenty years to win back-to-back titles.

Becky Hammon will be the featured speaker at the May 6th Experience Sioux Falls Annual Convention.  Tickets are available now by contacting Experience Sioux Falls.
