MITCHELL SD (Mitchell Now) – Behind every breast cancer patient is a
network of doctors, loved ones, and generous blood donors. More than 25% of the nation’s
blood supply is used to support cancer patients through surgery, treatment, and recovery.
Unlike other medications, blood cannot be manufactured. Every breast cancer patient in
need of a blood transfusion relies on the generosity of volunteer blood donors.
Around 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in their life. That
diagnosis is just the first step in a long journey against the disease. In around an hour, you
can help make sure those patients have access to the care they need.
This October, honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month by giving someone the strength to
continue their fight against cancer. By rolling up your sleeve and making a blood donation,
you can provide hope and healing to someone right here in your community.
