The DWU Tigers lost on the road Saturday to Briar Cliff 20-14. The Tigers started freshman Cayden Cunningham at quarterback. Cunningham finished 11-of-25 passing with one touchdown and two interceptions.
Jamin Arend gained 117 yards rushing on 19 carries and scored a touchdown.
Briar Cliff (3-6, 3-5 GPAC) jumped out to a 17-0 lead before DWU scored its first touchdown with 14:56 remaining in the 4th quarter on a 1-yard Arend run.
The Tigers (3-6, 3-5 GPAC) cut it to a one-score game on a 30-yard connection from Cunningham to Jakob Oxos to make the score 17-14. A 22-yard field goal by Jonathan Branner put the final score at 20-14 in favor of Briar Cliff.
