BROOKINGS, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Brookings Police now say a medical emergency caused the sudden death of South Dakota State football player Nate White. The 20-year-old sophomore running back from Wisconsin was found unresponsive at his Brookings home the morning of June 25th. Investigators determined White’s death was of natural causes after a medical event disrupted his breathing and heart. An autopsy with a toxicology report was reviewed, and there was no sign of foul play. White had transferred to SDSU in January and was majoring in interdisciplinary studies.
