A building adjacent to the Corn Palace was auctioned off on Friday. The winning bid….one dollar. Mitchell resident Ron Peterson was the winning bidder for the building, which is located at 620 North Lawler. Peterson will be responsible for removing the building from the property by May 1st. It most recently housed Behavioral Care Specialists until 2022. The city purchased it and the land for $180,000. The building was declared surplus at a December Mitchell City Council meeting.
