The case of a woman accused of killing a 5-year old boy last summer will be delayed while attorneys await a preliminary report from a psychiatric expert.
Julia Carter is charged with murder. She told police that she kicked the boy several times in the stomach and stomped on his abdomen. She then took the boy to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Carter has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. She faces life in prison. Her next court appearance will take place next month.
