MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) Central Electric Cooperative and the region’s other Touchstone Energy® Cooperatives are excited to announce the fifth annual Who Powers You Contest. Nominations are being accepted online at WhoPowersYouContest.com until April 19, 2026. The contest highlights local figures who are making a difference in their communities.
Cooperative members, employees and residents who live or work within the service territory of the region’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives are eligible to be nominated. Weekly finalists will be featured on Keloland Living starting in March, and the three contest winners will be announced in May based on the impact that they have on the community.
“We are proud to partner with our neighboring cooperatives to recognize hometown individuals who are making a meaningful difference in the lives of others,” said Tara Miller, Manager of Communications at Central Electric. “No act is too big or too small to be considered for a nomination.”
The grand-prize winner of the Who Powers You contest will receive $3,000. The second-place winner will receive $1,500 and the third-place winner will receive $500. To learn more about the Who Powers You contest and nominate someone from your community, visit WhoPowersYouContest.com.
